The Pisgah United Methodist Church is located off State Hwy. 157 north of Florence, Alabama. Travel north on 157 for about 7.5 miles. Turn left onto County Rd. #9 and go about .2 of a mile. The church & cemetery are on the right. The cemetery lies to the south of the church. Pisgah Methodist Church was started in about 1809. Decoration day at the Pisgah Cemetery is the first Sunday in June.

 

This enumeration begins in the northeast corner of the cemetery next to County Road 9 and proceeds row by row across the cemetery. All rows were recorded in an alternating north/south pattern. The oldest birth date recorded in this cemetery is the birth of Mary Phillips, who was born in 1772 and is buried in row 25. She was the wife of Sterlin Phillips, born in 1775, who is buried by her side.

 

A marker by the flagpole reads: “Erected in memory of loved ones and friends¾George R. Garner Family.”
